After win over Baylor, Liberty students get another surprise
Liberty president cancels Monday classes
Liberty pulled off the biggest upset of the year by knocking off Baylor as it begins its transition to the FBS ranks, and the party just keeps going for the Flames.
Upon returning to Williams Stadium on Sunday morning, the Liberty Flames football team was greeted by a group of students who had come to celebrate the victory, and university president Jerry Falwell Jr. apparently shares the sentiment.
He stoked the fire of the celebration by declaring via Twitter that all classes for Liberty students would be canceled on Monday in honor of the win.
I heard that a few thousand of you wanted classes canceled Monday. Enjoy the day off @LibertyU students! Way to go @LibertyFootball
Howard spoiled the start of UNLV's 50th season of play with the biggest upset in college football history based on point spread. Stanford held the previous record when it was declared a 40-point underdog against USC in 2007 and beat the Trojans.
Newton, the brother of NFL star Cam Newton, had 21 carries for 190 yards and two scores and passed for 140 and a score.
